TIG Welding

Welding is a core skill at vacuum fabrications. Precision TIG welding is performed on all materials used in vacuum systems, including 316 and 304 stainless steel, mu metal, aluminium, copper, etc. Great care is taken in basic design, weld preparation and subsequent welding to allow for material movement and shrinkage so as to reduce distortion and allow for precision focusing of ports in chambers and flanges.

Our team of engineers includes Lloyds Register Coded welders working to national standards.

Orbital Welding

We also offer orbital welding for the manufacture of UHP gas handling pipework, gas panels and manifolds. We have weld heads to suit 1/8 to 1/2in dia. micro fit weld tube fittings.

.
Range of welding approvals

Welding procedures approved by Lloyd’s Register to ISO 15614-1 and ASME IX for the welding of stainless steel from 0.7 to 6.8 mm thick and tube diameters 3.0 mm and above.

All welding personnel are qualified by Lloyd’s Register to EN 287 and ASME IX for the welding of steels 1.0 to 6.8 mm thick and tube diameters 6.0 and above.
