Description
The Model 590 Barocel transducer is a capacitance manometer with integral
signal conditioning to provide a 0±10 VDC output signal compatible
with digital voltmeters and data acquisition systems.
The all-welded construction makes it suitable for use in high vacuum systems.
It may be supplied with two pressure ports for measuring gauge or differential
pressure or with a single pressure port and internal vacuum reference for
measuring absolute pressure. High resolution and stability ensure suitability
for applications where it is desired to measure a wide range of pressures
with a single transducer.
Process control:
Use the Model 590 Transducer to monitor critical process pressures, or to
automate the process operation in a closed-loop feedback system. High repeatability
and fast transient response ensure complete, accurate control feedback.
Gauge calibration:
The Model 590 Transducer may be used as a secondary or transfer standard,
for calibration of other pressure/vacuum gauges such as thermocouple, Pirani,
ionization, or strain gauges. High accuracy, repeatability, and independence
from gas composition make this an ideal transfer standard.
Analytical instruments:
The Model 590 Transducer can provide accurate pressure measurement and control
for critical analytical instruments or techniques such as mass or radiation
spectrometers, chromatographs, B.E.T surface analysis, ion sources and electron
microscopes.
Vacuum gauging:
The Model 590 Transducer is ideal for True Total Pressure basic vacuum gauging,
where high accuracy, repeatability, and low cost are important. The 590
is constructed entirely of high-vacuum compatible materials, and is equally
at home in industrial or research environments.
Leak testing:
Use the Model 590 to detect or measure leak rates by monitoring changes
in pressure over a period of time. The broad sensitivity of the 590 makes
it possible to measure very small leak rates without the use of special
leak detection gases.
Mass flow measurement:
The Model 590 Transducer will provide highly accurate measurement of the
DP across an orifice or laminar flow element for mass flow measurement or
control. Sensitivity to extremely small differential pressures makes the
590 ideal for very low flows.
Improves stability, especially where there are fluctuations
in ambient temperature
Accelerates degassing
Prevents condensation of volatile gases and water vapour
Recommended for use with 500 Series transducers
for enhanced stability. The 525A thermal base attaches to the base
of the 500 Series transducers to regulate its internal temperature
automatically.
